    一、主講人介紹:      

    李少鋒現(xiàn)任美國佛羅里達(dá)州立大學(xué)二語與外語教育專業(yè)教授,博士生導(dǎo)師,專業(yè)負(fù)責(zé)人。主要研究方向為二語習(xí)得、語言學(xué)習(xí)認(rèn)知能力、任務(wù)型學(xué)習(xí)與教學(xué)、以及量化研究方法(包括元分析)。近幾年在國內(nèi)外權(quán)威期刊上發(fā)表70多篇學(xué)術(shù)論文,相關(guān)期刊包括Applied Linguistics, Applied Psycholinguistics, International Review of Applied Linguistics, Journal of Second Language Writing, Language Learning, Language Teaching, Language Teaching Research, Modern Language Journal, Studies in Second Language Acquisition, System, 等。他的文章也見諸由Cambridge University Press, Routledge, John Benjamins, Blackwell Wiley, Multilingual Matters, Palgrave等權(quán)威出版社出版的學(xué)術(shù)專著。出版的專著包括The Routledge Handbook of Second language Acquisition and Individual Differences (co-edited with Phil  Hiver and Mostafa Papi), Task-Based Language Teaching: Theory and Practice (co-authored with Rod Ellis, Peter Skehan, Natsuko Shintani, and Craig Lambert); Language Aptitude: Advancing Theory, Testing, Research and Practice (co-edited with Zhisheng Wen, Peter Skehan, Adriana Biedron, and Richard Sparks)。他目前擔(dān)任Research Methods in Applied Linguistics期刊主編, TESOL Quarterly書評編輯以及多家權(quán)威期刊編委包括《外語與外語教學(xué)》, Language Teaching Research, RELC Journal, Studies in Second Language Acquisition, System, TESOL Quarterly, 等。他曾多次在國際應(yīng)用語言學(xué)和二語習(xí)得學(xué)術(shù)會議上做主旨發(fā)言,主持專題討論。李少鋒博士曾經(jīng)在中國,美國,及新西蘭多所高校任教。

     

    二、講座信息

    Working memory is a cognitive space for simultaneous information manipulation and storage. In the field of second language acquisition, working memory has been investigated as a key individual difference variable that influence the processes and outcomes of language learning. Despite the voluminous body of research, there has been confusion over its conceptualization, measurement, and mechanism, and the research has yielded disparate, and sometimes contradictory, findings. This talk seeks to clarify the construct and navigate through the empirical evidence that has been accumulated over the past three decades with a view to extracting meaningful patterns and trends emerging from the research. The talk starts with a discussion of the theories, architecture, and measurement of working memory, followed by a synthesis of the research findings on its associations with other individual difference variables and with learning outcomes. The talk concludes by identifying issues, proposing remedies, and pointing out future directions.
